Who is Major Taylor?

Marshall Walter "Major" Taylor, the world's first black cycling superstar, broke racial barriers in the Jim Crow era with unparalleled resilience. Crowned the world cycling champion in 1899 and the American sprint champion in 1900, Taylor's legacy transcends his victories. He stands as a symbol of courage, battling racial discrimination with steadfast perseverance. Today, his story continues to inspire a global community, making cycling a beacon of hope and equality.
